New in 2010

The Sesame Development Team never stops developing  the media analysis & planning software further.

In the past years the emphasis has been put on the development of real cross media planning tools, that are now fully deployed in countries like Sweden, Singapore, Japan and Pakistan...

The specific approach of media research in Belgium did unfortunately not allow us to take full advantage of these developments yet.

But, it is clear Sesame can handle much more than Print (reading probabilities) alone...

Sesame is certified by CIM to handle the CIM Metriprofil data.

A first important step in the expansion of Sesame to handle more media is set with the brand new internet planning tool.

Experienced Sesame users will recognise their usual routines, allowing them to make a kick start on this new medium!

Besides the usual analysis features known from Sesame (Cross Tab, Ranking,...) the Internet tool also offers Pivot Tables and Calendar Scheduling.

The internet calendar scheduling tool allows to introduce Hits (Displays) or SOV (share of volume) day by day.

The results (gross and net results per day, week and month) are calculated and visualized instantly!

But, there’s more changes coming up in 2010!

In a nutshell what can be expected:

1.            The Sesame ‘new look’

These changes are both aesthetic and functional.  The large button and menu driven approach is retained but the buttons have been flattened,
rounded and tinted and font sizes have been reduced so that full length description of vehicles and variables can now largely be displayed throughout the program.
This smaller font size is also very helpful in displaying long classification descriptions, for example attitude statements.

2             The re-running of saved analyses and targets in different data bases

Sesame becomes more functional and efficient in 2010 by allowing the use of saved targets and jobs from one survey to another!

1.            Saved targets in one survey may be batch imported permanently into another (non comparable elements are reported)

2.            There will be a detailed description of every saved target in the normal classification menu

3.            Saved files may be called up from another survey in the ‘view saved file’ screen and these analyses run in the new survey base (non comparable elements are reported).

3.            Continuous reporting data – data waves can be combined (e.g. CIM Press) so that any selection of waves for analysis (crosstabs, rankings and schedules) can be made
and the user can instantly switch waves on screen and get the results of an analysis in the new wave set without having to re-specify the analysis.

4.            The ‘Library’ facility.  Users can make customized analyses that can be stored in a library file (outside of Sesame). Opening the library and selecting the file
will open Sesame and produce the analysis automatically. The user is then ‘live’ in Sesame and can make any amendments to the analysis if required.

The files can work across different data bases. Ex.: Think of creating a ‘Library’ containing all the analyses you make each time a new CIM Press or PMP survey is released...

These enhancements will be released throughout the first half of this year.

Sesame after 2010...

Also starting this year is the completely new development of a real SESAME ONLINE (not simply a copy of the existing software running on a remote server!).

In the near future the Sesame software and databases will run online from a central server with users  having password protected access over the internet.

The goal is to preserve the known features and analysis capacities of Sesame but to upgrade the software to the most state of the art technical platforms and standards.

This will offer several advantages, such as:

-          Program updates and database releases handled centrally with no intervention of your ICT people needed.

-          User access from any place with an internet connection.

-          Secured backup of your jobs and files.

-          ...
